Independent Consultancy & Review Services
Objective, child-centred independent case reviews and consultancy delivered with strict independence and confidentiality — supporting organisations and professionals across Ireland.
What Are Independent Consultancy & Review Services?
Objective expert review, outside the system
HAPii provides independent consultancy and case review services to organisations, agencies, and professionals who need an outside, objective perspective on child protection or welfare practice. Whether reviewing a single case or auditing an organisation's wider practice, our reviews are conducted with complete independence from the commissioning body.
Our consultants bring deep clinical and statutory experience, giving organisations confidence that the review is rigorous, fair, and genuinely child-centred throughout.
Consultancy & review services are commonly sought for:
- Independent case file reviews
- Serious incident or critical case reviews
- Care plan and practice audits
- Second opinions on existing assessments
- Organisational consultancy on child protection practice
- Training and reflective practice supports for teams
- Quality assurance reviews for agencies and contracted services
What the Review Covers
Case file & documentation review
A thorough, structured examination of case records, decisions, and the documentation trail against relevant policy, procedure, and professional standards.
Practice & decision-making analysis
Independent scrutiny of the quality of assessment, decision-making, and intervention at key points in the case, identifying both strengths and areas for learning.
Systemic & organisational factors
Consideration of the wider organisational, resourcing, and systemic context that shaped practice — supporting learning at both individual and organisational level.
The Review Process

HAPii works with the commissioning organisation to agree clear terms of reference, scope, and timelines for the review.
